Auto Manufacturing Will Remain Vital to Economy

The director of Ball State University's Center for Business and Economic Research believes auto production in Indiana is likely to be greater in coming years, compared to pre-recession levels. But Mike Hicks says the state's auto sector probably won't return to the same employment levels. He says Indiana is very good at making cars and as efficiencies and technologies improve fewer workers are required. Hicks believes traditional auto manufacturing will remain key to the Indiana economy.
