Funding Expected to Continue Indiana's HIT Leadership

04.29.10

Hoosier life sciences leaders say Indiana's assets in health information technology (HIT) are getting even stronger-more than $32 million stronger. While the new funding stems from nationwide efforts as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), many of the awards were competitive grants. Indiana life sciences leaders say earning such competitive awards validates the state's unique strengths and enhances its leadership role as the federal government pushes for HIT to become commonplace in U.S. health care.
