U.S. Jobless Rate Remains Unchanged

The national unemployment rate is holding steady at 9.7 percent, even though employers added 162,000 jobs in March. The U.S. Department of Labor reports temporary help services and the health care industry continued to add jobs. Employment in the federal government also grew with the hiring of 48,000 Census workers. The unemployment rate has remained unchanged for the third month in a row.
