Education Officials Prepare Reductions

12.18.09

The State Board of Education is prepared to offer Governor Mitch Daniels a series of recommendations on how Indiana's school districts can reduce costs. The list comes days after the governor said funding for K-12 education would have to be reduced by at least $300 million because of the state's declining revenues. Suggestions include hiring freezes, pay freezes and a review of school corporation insurance plans.
