Property Tax Caps Move Forward in House

The Indiana House Ways and Means Committee has passed a proposal that would create a constitutional amendment making the property tax caps permanent. The current measure would limit bills to 1 percent of the property's assessed value for homesteads, 2 percent for agricultural property and 3 percent for business property. Our partners at Network Indiana/WIBC report Governor Mitch Daniels says he is thankful the committee is "trusting the people of Indiana with this decision."
